Midland Bank, Sparkhill. Sorting Code 40-11-31
I worked for Midland Bank HSBC for 32 years and spent all but the last two in Birmingham Branches. I am photographing all the branches, or what's left of them, as they were when I joined Midland Bank in 1963. The branches all start with the sorting code 40-11.
This is the site of the 524, Stratford Road, Sparkhill branch. The sorting code was 40-11-31

The Antelope public house
No longer an open pub, but converted to a Kashmiri restaurant; The Antelope was built in the early 1920s for the Mitchells and Butlers brewery chain, and Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101276234-the-antelope-public-house-springfield-ward#.W9lcEUv7RPY in 1991.

Not the home of Sherlock Holmes, but on corner of Stratford Road and Baker Street, this former pub has been converted to a Kashmiri cuisine restaurant.
Nicely maintained on the outside, including the plasterwork above the front entrance
