Waterend Barn
Former early 17th Century barn originally situated on the Brocket Park estate at Waterend, east of Wheathampstead, reconstructed here in 1938 to be used as a restaurant and function. The site was enlarged in 1964 by the addition of Little Barn, a 16th Century barn from Little Hormead, near Buntingford. It was later acquired by the Wetherspoon chain in 2004 and following refurbishment was re-opened as a pub the following year. St Albans Market
Some of the stalls of St Albans Market along St Peter's Street, viewed from the Clock Tower. The market, instituted by Royal Charter in 1553, trades on Wednesdays and Saturdays and is one of the largest street markets in southern England. Blue and yellow, as used for the stall covers, are the municipal colours of St Albans.
