361 at St. Albans Market
SMW9 waits on St. Peters Street beside the market. In 1970, London Country had been absorbed into the National Bus Company. It had a large ageing fleet of ex-London Transport designs and needed replacements urgently. These AEC swifts were drafted in from South Wales Transport by the NBC and saw service from 1971 until 1981. this bus is wearing the original London Country bus livery. All repainted into the NBC's leaf green livery by the end of 1977.
