Former Kirk
This was the Seafield Free Kirk, built in 1900 to a design by D and J R McMillan of Aberdeen, both partners Duncan McMillan and John McMillan being involved with the work. The original Free Kirk, built in 1843, was behind this building, on Reidhaven Street, and when the new kirk was added the old one was used as a hall, kitchen and meeting rooms. It is a Category (C) listed building. It became part of the United Free Church in 1901, and after the reunion of the United Free Church in 1929 with the Church of Scotland, it was a Church of Scotland, but it is no longer in use as a church, though I have yet to find out when it closed. In 1981 Grant's of Buckie opened a sale room here, and some time after this image was taken it became Cullen Antiques Centre. See Image]
