Portknockie - Palm Trees
The Moray Firth is sheltered from west winds and therefore often has lower rainfall, higher temperatures and more hours of sunshine that are normal for these latitudes. Hence the palm trees on Bridge Street beside attractive stone cottages. www.portknockiewebsite.co.uk

This is marked on the second edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map as 'Baptist Hall', and at that time it was the only building on the east side of Seafield Street. It does not appear on the first edition, however.
