Baptist Church Hall
The church hall has been turned into a mass vaccination centre as part of the campaign to control the coronavirus pandemic and stop the spread of Covid-19. We waited our turns in the car, carefully parked in a spot from which we could keep an eye on the door, and when the time came we were processed very quickly.

Start of the Speyside Way
Or, if you walk downhill, the end of the long-distance path. Some local people view this with some wry scepticism, on the grounds that Buckie folk have never felt that they had any affinity with Speyside, but I understand that the riverside route isn't long enough to qualify as a proper long-distance path, and the addition of a spur along the conveniently disused railway between Spey Bay and Buckie brings it up to the required distance.

Buckie Baptist Church
The church was built in 1910/11 to a design by George MacPherson, a local architect. The contractors were listed in the 'Banffshire Advertiser' of 31 March 1910. Mason - Andrew Morrison, Carpenter - Alex Murray, Slater - John Barclay, Plasterer - R and J Hume, Plumber - R Tindall And Sons Ltd, Painter - James Duncan. It is nice to see recognition of the men who carried out the work as well as of the architect. See Image] for changes since 2010.

A Plethora of Churches
For a small town, Buckie possesses a remarkably large number of churches. There are three in this view alone, though the nearest one, the former West Kirk, has been converted into flats. See ImageThe next one is the Episcopal Church and the third one is the North Kirk.
