The houses in this north-western corner of the square are empty and boarded up. At least they provide a suitable spot for recycling facilities.

Hill Street

Newmill War Memorial
The clock tower was built in 1922-1923 as a memorial to the people of Newmill who died in the First World War. It was designed by local architect Francis D Robertson, who did not live to see it completed.

Newmill Clock Tower
This is the final photograph of the day we walked the Fishwives' Path. We had left one car in Buckie and a second one here, and after completing the 12 miles we returned to New Mill to collect the second one, and found Image] looking much as it had done so in the morning, apart from the direction of the sun and the position of the hands on the clock faces.
