Aultmore Distillery
The distillery was built right beside the Keith and Buckie Branch of the Highland Railway, which ran on this side of the buildings.

Aultmore Distillery
Aultmore distillery was completed in 1896, and was powered by a water wheel until 1898 when a steam engine was fitted. This engine was in almost continuous use for nearly 70 years, and was only decommissioned in 1969 when electricity was finally introduced to the distillery.

Aultmore was founded in 1895, and is now in the hands of the Bacardi drinks company, of which John Dewar and Sons is now a subsidiary.

The first whisky was actually produced in 1897, and the distillery is now part of the giant Diageo group. The whisky is available as a single malt.
