Auchanacie School House
The building is not on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map, but the local papers have records of it from about 1880 until it was closed in about 1950. It is now a private house.

Cotterton of Broadfield
Since Image] was taken 14 years ago, one of the trees has either fallen or been felled, and the one that was lying almost horizontal has also been cut and removed, leaving only one gnarled trunk to mark the spot.

Cottarton of Broadfield
The sorry pile of stones by this ancient cherry tree is all that remains of Cottarton of Broadfield, which is marked on old maps as Cottertown of Auchanacie. It was the home of my great-great-great-great-grandparents, occupied by them or their descendants from 1798 until 1891. See also Image] and Image]
