View from Mains of Clunymore
The camera scarcely does justice to the sweeping views from Mains of Clunymore. The farm at right of centre isn't named on the maps I have, and on the 1872 1:10,560 it is labelled 'Offices'! The one further up and to the left is Keithmore. The fiddler/musician William Marshall ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Marshall_(Scottish_composer) ) was tenant at Keithmore as Factor to the Duke Of Gordon. On his retirement from the post he wrote the melody 'Farewell to Keithmore'.
