Stephen Hospital
The cottage hospital in Dufftown is named after George Stephen, Lord Mountstephen (1829-1921), who is variously reported to have been born either in the town, or at Croftglas, and who rose to fame as a businessman in Canada, being most notably involved with the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The hospital was designed by Alexander and William Reid of Elgin and built in 1889-1890.
