Convenience Store (site of Greyfriars Free Kirk)
At the junction of George Street and Maberly Street. Greyfriars Free Church broke away from Greyfriars (established) Church in the Gallowgate in 1843 and after an initial abortive attempt to settle in Crown Street across the city, the congregation moved to this site in ca. 1855. The church was demolished in the 1960s and for many years a car accessory shop stood here.

261-265 George Street, Aberdeen
The former Church of Scotland theological college, now converted to flats and B-listed: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-20317-261-265-odd-george-street- . It was built to compete with Christ's College (the Free Church training college at the far end of Union Street), when the established church and the free kirk in Aberdeen were locked in mortal combat in the 1860s and 1870s (see Religion and Social Class: the Disruption Years in Aberdeen by A. A. Maclaren). The architect was Alexander Marshall Mackenzie, who went on to design the facade of Marischal College.

Craigie Street, Aberdeen
One of the few streets still laid with granite setts in the city centre. The chimney breast on the front facade of the tenement block is massive, even by Aberdeen standards.
