Aberdeen: Mitchell?s Hospital
This early 19th-century building originally housed 5 widows and 5 unmarried mothers. It was converted to private dwellings in 1924.

St Machar Cathedral, Old Aberdeen
This is the oldest of Aberdeen's three cathedrals. It is pre-Reformation and built of sandstone - unusual in the Granite City. It stands on a crook of land above the River Don - said to be the reason for erecting the building here.

St Machar's Cathedral, the West Front.
In Old Aberdeen, this is the oldest of Aberdeen's three cathedrals. It contains a famous wooden roof with 3 rows of coats-of-arms and Norman round pillars.
