Queen's Road Granite Splendour I
A series of extravagant granite mansions and villas were built on Queen's Road in the late Victorian era, using stone from Rubislaw Quarry (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubislaw_quarry ), less than 1 km away. Today most if not all are offices or other commercial buildings.

Surely Aberdeen's most extravagant granite mansion (built 1886) and A-listed: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-20459-50-50a-and-50b-queen-s-road-including-anc . The brown plaque on the buttress supporting the bay window commemorates John Morgan, the master mason who lived in the house. It is now divided into flats.
