Snarl-up on Carmelite Street
Part of the rather confusing one-way system in the vicinity of the Station and Union Square shopping centre. The turrets on the modern block of flats pay a nice tribute to the granite block next door (the Carmelite Hotel)... Any trace of a Carmelite religious building has long since vanished.

Tivoli Theatre
An old landmark on Aberdeen's Guild Street. Opened in 1872 as Her Majesty's Theatre, was used for music hall shows, latterly bingo. Designed by CJ Phipps and James Matthews in Venetian style.
