Marine Operations Centre
This is the centre from which all ship movements in the harbour and approaches are controlled. The building was designed by SMC Parr Architects and built in 2006.

Aberdeen: harbour control tower and beach
Looking along Aberdeen's fine sandy beach from the departing Orkney/Shetland ferry as it passes through the harbour entrance channel. The control tower is at the landward end of the North Pier.

Aberdeen Harbour Marine Operations Centre
Operational since 2006, this building replaces the more subtle one just further in port. This photo was taken at 8pm and the sun was hiding behind one of these stunning cloud formations.
