Aberdeen: Theatre Lane
An odd alleyway named after the fact that it passes along the back of the former Theatre Royal which was built in 1795. It closed in 1872, replaced by a theatre in Guild Street.

Elim Pentecostal Church, Marischal Street, Aberdeen
Built ca. 1877 on the site of a theatre and originally Trinity Church (Church of Scotland). There were far too many established churches in central Aberdeen after the CoS and UF churches merged in 1929 and it was taken over by the Elim Church in around 1934. C-listed: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-50951-50-marischal-street-elim-pentecostal-chur . Even in 1909 it was danmed with faint praise by Gammie: "There is no specially outstanding feature of the life and work of the church and parish calling for remark. The workers pursue their course quietly without any attempt to imitate modern methods or create a stir in the community. They prefer to keep to the old paths, and they are content when they succeed in holding their own without achieving any startling developments." Note the "crocketed skews" (the nodules on the diagonals at the roof-line).
