St Mary's Scottish Episcopal Church (The Tartan Kirkie)
Built 1864 and known to all and sundry in Aberdeen as the Tartan Kirkie due to the differently coloured granite and sandstone used in its construction. Note also the coloured slates on the roof. The interior is equally striking. A-listed: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-19964-carden-place-at-albert-terrace-st-mary-s- (follow the link for more details of the stone used). It was devastated by a German bomb in 1943 and rebuilt after the war.

Rubislaw Terrace (study in greyness)
Seen on a day when granite and sky are almost indistinguisbhable, this fine granite terrace in Scottish baronial style was built in the 1850s and is B-listed: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-20476-1-26-inclusive-numbers-rubislaw-terrace-a . I think that every one is now an office.
