Rowley Regis summit

The railway line from Stourbridge Junction to Birmingham was an afterthought, with an enforced steep gradient up to Rowley Regis. A Birmingham-bound train has just crested the summit and is passing the loop tracks provided for steam-era freight trains to apply and release wagon hand brakes. Until the 1990s, there was a rail-served oil depot on the left of the lines.
