The former Bell Hotel, 16 Lion Hill

Originally The Bell Inn, it opened around 1820 and became a coaching inn in the 1840's. In 1900 the name changed to The Bell Hotel. In the 1970's the facade was restored to its original Georgian style. It was the last public house in Lion Hill but closed in 2002. It was then converted into flats but has kept its external appearance including the words "The Bell" on the front and a pub sign.
