The Assembly Rooms, one of the finest of Bath's treasures, were completed in 1771. Although they suffered a serious fire following an air raid in 1942, they were subsequently restored to their former glory. This is the Octagon Room originally used as a card room. The building is owned by the National Trust but administered by Bath and North East Somerset Council.
