The north entrance to the park from Quernmore Road. The impressive park houses the famous Ashton Memorial.I think it is built on the site of a large quarry the stone from which built much of Lancaster's housing lived in by 'Lile Jimmy's' workforce, aka James Williamson/ Lord Ashton the Lino magnate.
