Anyone who travels along the West Coast main railway line between Wigan and Preston can hardly fail to notice this chunk of Edwardian mill-owner's pride, only a small portion of the east frontage being shown here. But a century after it was built cotton spinning is only one of Britain's industries that has fallen foul of globalisation and now the mill is home to a number of smaller firms dealing in a miscellany of wares, all under the umbrella of Lancashire Enterprises who renovated and modified the building.
