Looking east. This was the point at which the horse tramway from Stratford-upon-Avon crossed the road from the left (Image) and then split to form two branches towards Shipston-on-Stour and Moreton-in-Marsh. When the lines to Shipston and Moreton were converted into railways in 1889 a new direct curve was built between them bypassing this junction, and the former tramway to Stratford was abandoned.
