You have to know what you are looking for in these narrow City Streets: it was here during the reign of Edward VI that the parson of St Michael Paternoster Royal brought the coffin of Dick Whittington once it had been disinterred (on his orders). He thought that it would yield the great wealth reputedly buried with him. Of course nothing was found and one can only speculate how he slept for the next few nights.
