Burrowlee House is a Georgian Building built in the early 1700's by Thomas Steade. He married the local Lord of the Manor's daughter and they lived together in this house, the oldest in Hillsborough. They eventually moved on and up to Hillsborough Hall not far away. The building was eventually bought by Sheffield City Council who used it for various purposes including as offices by the Sheffield Education Department. It was also used by a Crafts and Design business. It has now been nicely refurbished back to living accommodation. Image ... Follow this link to see the Steade's 'new house' ... Image
