Saint's day calendar window, All Saints' Church (1)

Glass by F. R. Leach (1883) in the south aisle. At the head are abbreviations of the Greek name of Jesus: Ίησους Χριστός. The text is the collect for SS. Simon & Jude (the last feast before All Saints' Day): "O Almighty God, who hast built thy Church upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the head corner-stone; Grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their doctrine, that we may be made an holy temple acceptable unto thee; through the same Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen." In the borders are the initial letters of the Saints Days in the 1662 calendar as in use at the time. They read up the left and down the right of each pane. The start of each month is marked by an illustration of the sign of the zodiac which roughly corresponds - these cannot be made out in this image.
