Unseasonal gusty weather catches the branches of the willow trees on Friday Island. The island is not the tourist location near Cirencester but a small island at the downstream end of the New Cut and Old Windsor Lock. Whether the island existed before the New Cut was built in 1822 or whether it was created as a result of the associated earthworks is unknown.
