The train is a Northern Rail Class 156 Super Sprinter operating a limited-stop Southport to Manchester Airport service, via Bolton and Manchester Piccadilly. The train is taking the line towards Bolton. In the middle distance, just behind the clump of trees where the railway turns left, is Crow Nest Farm, hence the name of this railway location - Crow Nest Junction.
