In 1988 I was manager of the Langstone Middle School Football Team that won the Portsmouth School's FA Championship, a feat I have never managed at any of my subsequent schools. We played on this beautiful pitch- our secret weapon, as most schools in Pompey have only a tarmac playground to practice on.
