VC. Croix de Guerre. Medaille Militaire (1895-1967) A member of the 15/17th West Yorkshire Regiment, at the age 22 he led a party of 5 men armed with a single Lewis gun against 600 of the enemy at Hamellincourt during the battle of the Somme 26th March 1918. He Lived here 1953 to 1967.
