In 1903, a new workhouse was built on the Wednesfield Road. It provided accommodation for 669 inmates with 372 patients in the adjoining hospital. Following the closure of the Royal Hospital and the Eye Infirmary hospital services for the city are provided on a single site. Hollybush House, used for the management offices, is part of the original 1900s buildings.
