BCWW 1858. Bradford Corporation Water Works laid the Nidd Aqueduct that runs across the top of this field, but that was not constructed until the 1890s. However the date does match the period of construction of the earlier Barden Aqueduct that runs round the hillside lower down. I suggest then that this stone was relocated at some point from on or near the Barden, to indicate an access point to the later Nidd conduit. For context, see Image
