Opened in 1868 by the Busby Railway which soon became part of the Caledonian Railway, this station was on the line from Glasgow Central to East Kilbride. It closed in 2025 when the line was electrified and the section through here doubled, and was replaced by a brand new station some 400m behind the camera position.
