Here is Ridge Hill from a public footpath about 1⅓ mile to the west, taken in Woolhope parish. The summit of Ridge Hill is 757 ft (231 m) and is well-known for its transmitting station, opened on 30th July 1968 to serve several radio and television channels of the analogue and digital type, though the analogue tv channels ceased broadcasting from Ridge Hill throughout April 2011. The 540 ft tall mast is located some 540 m southeast from the summit, which can be seen from many miles away.
