Tanfield Railway - Twizell at Sunniside Station

Twizell is an 0-6-0T built in 1891 by Robert Stephenson as works No. 2730. It worked the Beamish Railway serving local collieries and then for the NCB. It was acquired by Beamish Museum in 1972. It is on long term loan to the Tanfield Railway and first returned to steam in 2010 and then following its ten year overhaul again in 2024. It is currently in operational conditional. Seen here running round its train during the end of season gala.
