Looking from outside the Stamford Arms to the Church of St Mary the Virgin. A Grade II listed building, it dates in its present form from 1858-60. Elements of an earlier predecessor church are incorporated in the fabric. The photograph was taken by the contributor’s father, Geoffrey William Sutcliffe (1907-2004).
