Originally built in 1877 by the Good Templar temperance movement, financial considerations eventually put the hall up for sale. It was bought on behalf of the village for £450 in 1908. Now there are fine photographs on display outside, taken in the Tweedvale and Tweedholm mills in the 1920s.
