The library in Eaton Place opened in 1973 to serve Bingham, which now has a population of about 10,000, and the surrounding villages. According to the library's website it is a 'great place to socialise' and there is even a Lego club on Saturday afternoons - much has changed since the days when anything other than a whispered conversation was likely to earn a 'Shush - quiet please' rebuke from the staff. The building incorporates a family hub which offers support and advice to the parents of young children.
