Andover station was opened in 1854 and was previously known as Andover Junction with lines north to Swindon and south to Southampton. Its sole role now is as a stop on the former London and South Western Railway route between London Waterloo and Exeter. Happily the canopies, characteristic of the company's station architecture, have survived.
