Brunel's railway to Birmingham severed the Priory estate around 1850. The land north of the railway acquired the name of Priory Pools, referring to surviving water bodies that had perhaps once been the fishponds of the Priory before Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries. It is now a park for the local community with play spaces and some glorious trees, seen here at winter dusk. Photo number 8045749.
