An aerial view of Littlehampton reveals the town's dense urban grid nestled along the West Sussex coast, where the River Arun meets the English Channel. The long arc of sandy beach, visible along the left of the image, transitions into the vibrant turquoise of nearshore waters, gradually blending into deeper blues further out — a result of varying depths and light refraction on this calm summer day. The beach itself is part of the 13-mile stretch known as the Sussex Coastal Plain, bordered by natural shingle barriers and groynes that protect the coastline from erosion. To the top-right, the structured greens and bunkers of Littlehampton Golf Club can be seen bordering the estuarine mouth.
