Formerly this timber-framed house in Wilmcote was thought to be Mary Arden's home, William Shakespeare's mother. However, around the turn of the Millennium it was discovered this house belonged to Adam Palmer who died in 1584. Mary Arden's home was Glebe Farm which is next door. Fortunately, Glebe Farm is also owned by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
