An unusual name for a country pub, with no obvious geological link! The pub is currently closed. Dating from the early 19th century, it is grade II listed, as is the K6 phone box outside it - for listing particulars see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1186786 and www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1186835 respectively.
