From the end of the old stone pier in Port Bannatyne this photo shows the wreck of a former herring trawler, and on the seafront The Port Royal Hotel, a village inn of 1810 A.D. currently run by Russians. There are four guest rooms and a famous Russian Tavern serving freshly landed seafood, local Real Ales direct from the cask, Russian specialities, and Russian wines, beers and vodkas. From the tavern are views across the yacht bay to the Argyll hills.
