This bridge carries the public footpath from Midtown to Friar Row over the Cald Beck beside St. Kentigern’s or St. Mungo’s well. The footpath is the Caldbeck Alternative Route of The Cumbria Way long distance path (next photograph Image) and this point is where northbound walkers leave the Lake District National Park.
