View into Edgar Street Athletic Ground whilst the Blackfriars End has been demolished. Student housing is planned for the site as well as a stand. The floodlight pylons are also due to go, taking with them corners of the pitch where dark deeds can take place beyond the night vision of a match official. The previous floodlights were so bad that when Match of the Day games were top secret, news got out that a Hereford - Brighton game (no not That One) was chosen due to the row over kick off times - the ground was too dark for 1976's cameras. It was a 1-1 draw thanks to a "hand of God" goal by Dixie McNeil. In those more civilised times it was Hereford who kept getting promoted and Brighton knew their place - oh for their return.
