About 6 fairly tortuous miles north of Image I caught up with 'Bexhill' and 'Brighton' as they were passing Broken Cross. The photo was taken from Bridge 184. They were followed by another Union Canal Carriers pair, 'Petrel' and 'Moon'. Unfortunately I never did discover why 4 empty working narrow boats, so far from their depot at Braunston, were travelling north on the Trent & Mersey.
