35 locomotives participated in the S&DR 150 cavalcade, all but 2 steam. The smaller ones were the easiest to photograph because of the size of the crowd! 0-6-0T 'Fenchurch' was built by the London, Brighton & South Coast Rly in their Brighton works in 1872 as No. 72, an early member of the A1 class - which became known as 'Terriers'. Rebuilt as an A1X in 1913 she had a long and varied career with withdrawal coming in November 1963 by which time she was numbered 32636 and was the oldest locomotive in BR stock.
