The Roding flows for 50 kms from its source near Stansted Airport to the Thames with its tidal southern section known as Barking Creek. In theory navigable for small boats, the tidal section ends somewhere round here at Ilford Bridge. This looks like low tide just now. The river banks have certainly gone back to nature since this picture from 17 years ago Image at the same place.
